3 Myths About the MESHPRO Grip Configurator

The ability to easily design a custom grip for your hand from home sounds almost too good to be true for many shooters. With the MESHPRO Grip Configurator, we’ve made exactly that possible: With our tool, every shooter can step-by-step configure their individual grip – simply, quickly, and precisely.

However, there are several myths surrounding the grip configurator that we want to address in this post. So, let’s take a closer look behind the scenes and show how the grip configurator actually works. Here are the three most common myths about the MESHPRO Grip Configurator – and the truth behind them.

Myth 1: The hand scan is only used to determine the correct standard size

Wrong. Many believe that the hand scan is only used to determine the correct standard size. However, there’s much more to it.

We’ve developed artificial intelligence (AI) and trained it with thousands of hands. This AI analyzes the scanned hand. It captures 21 precise measurement points to determine various parameters such as finger length, hand width, and grip volume. The data is then manually reviewed and transferred to the corresponding grip model. The result? A perfectly fitted grip model, individually made for each hand – far beyond just a standard size!

Myth 2: I need to travel to MESHPRO for the hand scan

Wrong. Some shooters think the hand scan can only be done on-site at MESHPRO. But just the opposite is true: the entire process works remotely and can be done from home.

All you need is:

✅ A printed reference sheet, which is available in the configurator’s web app

✅ A smartphone or tablet to perform the scan

✅ A few seconds to scan your hand

No matter where you are, the hand scan can be done anywhere, and there’s no need to travel to Germany. It’s never been easier to design your custom grip – all without waiting for an appointment.

Myth 3: The best grips can only be created with modeling clay

Wrong. It’s often assumed that the perfect grip can only be achieved by manually shaping it with modeling clay. Of course, optimal results can be achieved this way. If such a perfectly fitted grip already exists, we offer the option of the "Grip Scan" to transfer its shape 1:1 to a MESHPRO grip.

However, even when adding and removing material by hand, it is often difficult to create a grip that fits 100%. There are frequently small or larger discrepancies that can affect comfort and precision.

With the hand scan and the further adjustments in the grip configurator, a grip can be created that, in many cases, fits even better to the individual hand than the painstakingly modified existing grips.

The MESH structure, combined with a custom fit, is what makes the difference for not only hobby shooters but also top-level competitors. Top-level shooters already trust the technology and precision that the MESHPRO Grip Configurator offers.
